Loca is an interactive map in a mobile app that uses short videos – experiences – to introduce users the places in the city.
Project CEO Laura Taganova explains that today people prefer to start searching for places to go from social networks rather than from search services. According to the results of customer development it was found out that 70% of 400 respondents before visiting a cafe, for example, want to read honest reviews and see what is happening there "here and now".
"The project will be monetised by advertising to businesses," explains Cofounder. – Businesses are encouraged to buy different packages, which include putting their logo on a map, being in the top recommended list, and information about promotions or bonuses. Among other ways to monetise – we will provide analytical and statistical reports to businesses and academic organisations."
The project is at the MVP stage and launched in test mode in the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent, Turkestan and Aktau.
In the future, it will already be available for all cities in Kazakhstan, as well as reaching out to South-East Asia and the UAE.
The developers of the project believe that in the future the mobile application will incorporate technologies such as virtual and augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and possibly a transition to the meta universe.
The Loca mobile app is available for download on ios and Android platforms.
