Ukrainian startup AirSlate raises $51.5 M financing with G Squared, UiPath for $1.25B valuation

New funds to expand automation capabilities and communities allowing users to get more productivity from their business documents and data. airSlate is a global SaaS technology company that empowers users to digitally transform their businesses with the company's PDF editing, e-signature workflow, and business process automation solutions.  AirSlate became the fourth Ukrainian unicorn after, GitLab and Grammarly.

European unicorn startup Personio with Russian founder raises $200M

European HR startup Personio has raised $200 million and reached a valuation of $8.5 billion, TechCrunch reports. The funding is technically a second closing of its Series E, coming on the heels of the first tranche of $270 million that closed in October. The lead investor in the current round was Greenoaks Capital Partners. Personio is a developer of HR management software for companies with up to 2,000 employees. 

The startup has a client base of 6,000 companies and the funding raised will be used to increase it and introduce new tools.  A new valuation of $8.5 billion makes ТPersonio one of Europe's most expensive start-ups at the moment. The startup was launched in 2015 and is headquartered in Munich.

124 projects were selected for the startup marathon in Belarus, a quarter of them AgroTech startups

The educational module of the programme, during which startup teams developed ideas and prepared a business plan to present a working model of their business project to experts, is now coming to an end. The most promising startups will be able to take part in the acceleration stage. The competition programme is conducted by Belagroprombank with the support of the Ministry of Economy, the State Committee on Science and Technology, the Belarusian Innovation Fund and representatives of the business community. The Startup Marathon programme lasts for nine months. The main prize is four grants of 500 basic units for the winners in each category. 

You can still join the marathon. If the startup is in the seed stage, but needs to improve the product and take the business to the next level, you need to send your start-up presentation and application to by 8 July 2022. 

Startup Smart System Technologies has offered an innovative MultiCode solution to logistics companies in Kazakhstan

According to, Nazarbayev University's NURIS Innovation Cluster launched a corporate acceleration programme to help logistics company PMK in 2021.  As a result, it chose MultiCode, an IT solution, a smart freight scheduler for wagon fleet operators. The system is synthesised with railway tariff calculation services and wagon deployment.  To date, a dispatcher's office for intelligent transport planning has been developed, and beta-testing of the programme at the company is underway. In the future, MultiCode will be implemented throughout Kazakhstan and beyond.

Astana Hub Blockchain Battle took place in Kazakhstan

The top prize went to FocusED now, a gamified virtual classroom app that simplifies online learning processes. In second place went to startup Birds of Prey. The team's project focuses on preserving endangered species of birds of prey by using NFT Drops in cooperation with Kazakh artists.  Third place went to startup Mentory, a Web3 educational platform with built-in Game-Fi and Social-Fi elements. The teams won cheques worth $3,000, $5,000 and $10,000, respectively. 

During the event, Binur Zhalelov, Chairman of the Board of JSC Centre for the Development of Payment and Financial Technologies, and Magzhan Madiev, General Director of Astana Hub International Technopark of IT Startups, signed a memorandum of cooperation. According to Magzhan Madiev, this document promotes the development of blockchain technology in Kazakhstan.
