1. The finalists of the competition «IT startup of the year» were announced in the IT-park of Uzbekistan

The final stage of the competition «IT startup of the year» was held at the end of February.  It was organized by IT-Park and Tashkent University of Information Technologies. 25 participants applied for the competition, and only 16 passed all stages of the competition. As a result of the competitive selection, 3 startups were selected, which became the winners of the competition:

– Manzurova Zarina, MedAp: Provides communication between patients and doctors. 

– Isomiddinov Marufjon, LJ: The application allows parents to monitor the learning process of their children. 

– Ruziyeva Madinahon, «Unemployed»: the project helps women to find work.

3. Immigram startup has developed a test that will tell you which country is more suitable for the founder's startups to move

Based on the results of the test, you can get access to guides on the rules of submitting documents for a start-up visa and other recommendations for relocation. The test questions concern business preferences for tax rates, weather, environment. The test also asks about the amount of funding involved, the time since the start of the startup. In the list of countries for possible relocation at the moment available about 30 options with a detailed description of the conditions for obtaining a visa.

4. Human Fintech Startup History: ex-CEO Yota created a freelance exchange in the United States and transformed it into the ecosystem of Uzbekistan

Humans.uz is an application that can access a credit card, cellular operator, cashback, unlimited internet and payment aggregator to pay for necessary services, such as utilities. One of the reasons for the choice of Uzbekistan to launch the fintech platform was the homogeneous population, and the other was the rapid development of the country and the growth of the economy. Now 460 people work in Uzbek retail and 200 people work in the contact centre» – says the founder of the project Vladimir Dobrinin.

The Humans.uz application is not monetized through advertising: the company charges a fee for services and earns from transactions from which their revenues are accumulated.

5. American Battery Road became a shareholder of Tajik startup zypl.ai

The Battery Road Digital Holdings Top American Venture Fund invested in the zypl.ai Artificial Intelligence Academy, based in Tajikistan. The capitalization of the startup is estimated by foreign investors at $6 million. zypl.ai will continue the pre-seed round to scale artificial intelligence products in the region. Earlier, the founder of the Academy zypl.ai Azizjon Azimi said that one of his main professional plans is to «make zypl.ai the first Tajik unicorn».

6. Four more entrepreneurs received start-up certificates in Azerbaijan

The Agency for Development of Small and Medium Business (SME) under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan issued start-up certificates to four other SMEs. This brings the number of SMEs that have received start-up certificates to 36. 

A start-up certificate exempts SMEs from paying income tax and income tax on income from innovation for three years from the date of receipt of the certificate.

7. Intch developers have created a service to help startups in relocation
